Getting Started

Bermcoin watches exchange rates for you and sends a notification when your target rate is hit. Think of it as a price alert for currency. We are an information service only — we do not move money or provide financial advice.

1) Go to the sign-in page and enter your email. 2) We email you a sign-in link — no password to remember. 3) Click the link in the email and you land in your Dashboard, ready to add your first watch. The calculator on the homepage is just for exploring rates; your account starts on the sign-in page.

Yes. The free plan gives you 1 rate watch, 3 alert messages a month, and both Telegram and email notifications. No credit card required, no time limit, no catch. Paid plans (Standard €2/month, Pro €10/month) add more watches and more messages.

In your Dashboard, click the “+ Add Watch” button. Enter the currency you send from (e.g. EUR), the currency your family receives (e.g. PHP), and your target rate. The send amount is optional — if you fill it in, your alert shows roughly what that amount converts to. How you get notified is set separately, in the “Notification Channels” section of the same page.

If you are sending money abroad, a higher rate means your family receives more. Check the current rate first (the homepage calculator shows it), then set a target a little above it — that way you are alerted when things genuinely improve. Setting your target at or below today's rate will trigger an alert straight away and can use up your monthly messages in the first week.

Rate Watches

The European Central Bank publishes one official reference rate each working day, usually around 16:00 CET (3pm–4pm Irish time). Bermcoin checks for the new rate every 15 minutes, so within minutes of it being published we know whether your target has been reached. There is no new rate on weekends or ECB holidays.

All rates come from the European Central Bank's daily reference rate, delivered via the Frankfurter service. One important honesty note: the ECB rate is an official mid-market benchmark. The rate you actually get from a money-transfer provider will be a little lower after fees and spreads — and for some currencies (like the Nigerian naira) the everyday street rate can sit far from the official one. Always check the real rate with your provider before sending.

A money route is a currency pair with a direction. For example, “EUR to GBP” is one route and “GBP to EUR” is another. Each route represents the exchange direction you care about.

Any combination of the 30 currencies the European Central Bank publishes — including EUR, GBP, USD, BRL, INR, MXN, PHP, PLN, RON, CAD, AUD, CNY and NZD. Two much-requested currencies are not covered yet because the ECB does not publish them: the Nigerian naira (NGN) and Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH). If your currency is missing, use the “Don't see your currency?” form on the homepage — the most-requested get added first, and we email you when yours goes live.

The free plan includes 1 active rate watch. Standard (€2/month) gives you 3, and Pro (€10/month) gives you 10. The paid plans are not on sale yet — join the waitlist and we will email you the moment they open.

Messages

Every plan — including free — can use both Telegram and email. WhatsApp is available on the Pro plan. You turn channels on and off in the “Notification Channels” section of your Dashboard, and you can have more than one switched on at the same time.

A typical notification tells you the currency pair, the rate that was reached, your target rate, and roughly what your send amount converts to before fees. The source is always the ECB reference rate. Every notification includes a “not financial advice” disclaimer, and if a message contains provider links, it says so when we may earn a referral fee.

Free includes 3 alert messages a month, Standard 10, Pro 30. One alert = one message, whichever channels it goes to, and each watch sends at most one alert per 24 hours — so a rate that wobbles around your target cannot burn your whole month in a day. When you hit your limit, your watches pause and resume automatically on the 1st of the month; alerts that would have fired while paused are not sent later. Your Dashboard shows exactly how many you have used, warns you when you have 1 left, and shows the reset date.

Your Dashboard tells you when the month's allowance is used up and when it resets (the 1st of each month). If you regularly need more, the Standard plan (€2/month, 10 messages) is built for that — it is not on sale yet, so join the waitlist to get it first.

Billing

Honest answer: you can't yet. Standard (€2/month or €20/year) and Pro (€10/month or €75/year) are being finished now — join the waitlist and we will email you the moment they open. When they do, checkout will be handled securely by Stripe and you will see the full price and renewal terms before you pay anything.

When paid plans launch, you will be able to cancel from your Dashboard at any time. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, then your account simply reverts to the free plan. No questions asked, no retention hoops.

Paid plans will renew automatically at the end of each billing period — and we will email you before each renewal so a charge never takes you by surprise. Cancel any time to stop future charges. There is nothing to cancel on the free plan; it is free forever.

The exact refund terms, including your EU 14-day right of withdrawal, will be set out clearly at checkout when paid plans launch. If anything ever goes wrong with a charge, contact us and we will sort it out.

We store your email, plan, rate watch preferences, notification preferences, and a history of the alerts we have sent you. The “send amount” on a watch is optional and only used to show you what your amount converts to in alerts. We never store card details — payments will be handled by Stripe. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
